The IOS mail app appears to find these parameters properly but the MacOS Mail app does not.Ģ. Spectrum may be using an unusual combination of parameters for their IMAP/SMTP server. The combination shown below is working for me but I may play more with it.ġ. For SMTP authentication: plain, login, cram-md5 and digest-md5. In addition, it gave me the choices for IMAP authentication: none, plain, and cram-md5. ![]() I could now verify that the proper ports were being used (note that Spectrum is using SMTP port 587) and the right authentication (SSL). When it failed, some new configuration items appeared in the dialog (see image). However, during its attempt to connect, it tells you what port(s) and protocols it is trying to use. At first, it also failed to establish a stable connection with the Spectrum server. ![]() I downloaded Airmail 3 from the app store which got good reviews. It was a learning experience if anyone else has this problem.
